Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data JaraStreet collects and how we use it. JaraStreet is operated by Kovo Link Digital Solution Services (BN 9540631), Lagos, Nigeria, which is responsible for your data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- Sellers: your WhatsApp number, email, password (stored encrypted), shop details, products and photos, and records of Pro payments.
- Customers: when you order or ask to be told when an item is back, the name, WhatsApp number and delivery address you type in, and what you ordered. This is shared with the seller of that shop so they can serve you.
- Visits: pages viewed, products opened and added to bag, and where visitors came from (for example WhatsApp or Instagram), using a random visitor ID rather than your name. Sellers see these as totals in their stats.
- Messages to the shop assistant: questions sent to a shop's AI assistant are processed to answer them.
Why we use it
- To run shops and pass orders to sellers.
- To let sellers follow up on orders and restock requests you made.
- To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To show sellers how their shop is doing, and to improve JaraStreet.
We don't sell personal data, and we don't send marketing to customers on sellers' behalf.
Who we share it with
- The seller you order from or ask about.
- Service providers that run JaraStreet for us: hosting (Vercel), database and login (Supabase), payments (Bachs), email, and AI processing for shop assistants (Anthropic). They may process data outside Nigeria, with appropriate safeguards.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
When you pay online on a shop, your card or bank details are entered on Bachs's secure page. JaraStreet never sees or stores them.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account or the related order is active, and afterwards only as long as we need it for legal, tax or dispute reasons. Draft shops that are never claimed are deleted after 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Sellers can edit most details in their dashboard. Email support@jarastreet.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you logged in and to remember your bag. Our site analytics don't use cookies.
